Cheri Kim immigrated to U.S. from Korea when she was eight years old. She grew up in Queens and Brooklyn. Fortunately, she was admitted to Stuyvesant H.S. and she was a member of the school orchestra where she played violin. With great love of sciences, she attended M.I.T. where she studied mathematics and East Asian studies. She was able to cross register with Harvard University where she relearned Korean.
After graduation from M.I.T. during the Korean Olympics in 1988, she went to Seoul, Korea to work for Daewoo Corporation as a consultant. She translated the autobiography of Chairman Woo Choong Kim from Korean into English. After working for few years for the Korean conglomerate, she enrolled in MBA program at Yonsei Graduate School of International Studies where she specialized in international finance.
Cheri returned to New York City and had both her children here, and worked for Smith Barney. She was involved in the Korean desk, and was involved in pioneering projects with Korean clients. She also loved to teach, and taught math at New York City high schools. She used her spare time to write a fiction book about Korean American experience.
With great interest in homes and real estate, she joined Kian Realty where she has many interesting interactions with diverse background realtors and clients. She hopes to grow as a professional and a person from this experience.
